Transportation
The Carriage House has one of the best locations in Wellesley. Via back roads, you can get to the Massachusetts Turnpike in under 5 minutes at the speed limit, with no stoplights and little traffic. That means access to the Prudential Center garage in as little as 17 minutes without speeding! The Back Bay, South End, Financial District, Cambridge, and Davis Square are all as little as 20 minutes away. And with easy stoplight-free access to Route 9 Westbound, grocery shopping is 5 minutes away, the Natick Mall and Shopper’s World under 10.
There’s a Whole Foods Market within walking distance, and the small-town convenience of the Eaton Apothecary, as well as Quebrada Bakery, Blockbuster, and other convenient shops around the corner.
The Wellesley Hills commuter rail station (Framingham/Worcester line) is a 1/3-mile walk. (It is also a 1/3-mile run. I have personally run it in 3.5 minutes carrying a 20-pound pack.) This train, which runs nearly every 20 minutes at rush hour, takes you directly to Back Bay and South Station—for less than the cost of tolls.
